OUR STORY : WHERE DREAMS BECAME REALITIES AND OPERATION DRIVE WAS BORN

Hear the story behind our Systemprenuer:

Meighan said in a world where there are thousands of changes daily she often dreamed of where she could make her mark in this world. She said she wouldn’t necessarily call her dream a Shark Tank idea, but often thought about it as being a system changer. Meighan said it wasn’t until she read an article sent to her from her “Happy Cappy friend Beth O” that she realized she was going in the right direction of becoming the next Systemprenuer.

Founder Meighan Cole was faced with some difficult hardships in life, and decided that she wasn't going to give her circumstances power over her Destiny. Meighan is determined to reach back to help citizens

in communities that are impoverished, declined transportation, and have high rates of food insecurity. She has the wisdom, and compassion in this area, because it was all a part of her humble beginnings. The journey began shortly after her grandmothers paralyzing stroke where she was declined assistance for medical rides and treatment under the Medicaid program. Meighan took on the

responsibility of being her grandmother’s power of attorney at a fairly young age. She said she was undecided about where to go in life when things seemed to be falling apart after her grandmother’s multiple strokes. “Meighan says after returning back home from Ohio to continue care for her “granny” she was inspired by a cousin Sequita Stewart who encouraged her to return to school for nursing. After returning to school for nursing Meighan decided shortly thereafter that wasn’t her calling from God, but she knew she wanted to help children & elders, but in what capacity she was unsure. Meighan says she was eager to make a difference in other people lives after the life altering events that took place in hers. She started with babysitting, and becoming a licensed daycare provider after loss of employment, During this time Meighan was asked by the parents could she provide transportation to their families. Meighan says this wasn’t a bad idea, and says this is when it dawned on her that there was still a problem with transportation; rather it was for children or seniors “Meighan says she knew there was a need”. She began to ponder on names for her dream company later starting a pilot program that provided services to senior citizens, displaced youth, children with special needs, and persons with disabilities at low or no cost. After successfully piloting the program she began the DREAM of building a nurturing non-profit transportation program Operation Drive to service more individuals that are in need of emergency transportation services. .

OUR MISSION:

To deliver a community based quality transportation system for the under-served communities with limited transportation. We serve the senior citizens, veterans, low income families, persons with disabilities to keep them connected to local food pantries, food program appointments, activities, doctor appointments, treatment centers, families, and their community.

Our Goal

It is our goal to raise awareness about the transportation crisis in Suburban areas of Illinois. Our plan is to create partnerships with public and community groups to remove the barriers of the current transportation crisis to provide “fill in the gap” transportation options. Seniors, persons with disabilities, disabled, veterans, and children in suburban areas of Illinois are greatly impacted, and cannot get to critical appointments. Operation Drive will provide transportation services to seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans, and persons that are disadvantaged to help build strong, and sustainable communities.
