THE PROBLEM

Currently, the seniors, veterans, disabled, low income families and their children suffer disproportionately due to lack of inadequate transportation, and services.

While it is true that in cities and well occupied suburbs people of all physical capabilities have a choice of transportation options.  In suburban areas however, a markedly different scenario exists. Transportation alternatives are lacking for all populations and particularly the two groups straddling the middle are the seniors and the disabled. These two populations commonly lack the ability or means to own and operate a private vehicle. Consequently, they are left relying on transportation options that are best described as virtually non-existent.

OPERATION DRIVE ADDRESSING THE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM FOR SENIORS VETERANS AND LOW INCOME FAMILIES

Our Goal

It is our goal to raise awareness about the transportation crisis in Suburban areas of Illinois. Our plan is to create partnerships with public and community groups to remove the barriers of the current transportation crisis to provide “fill in the gap” transportation options. Seniors, persons with disabilities, disabled, veterans, and children in suburban areas of Illinois are greatly impacted, and cannot get to critical appointments. Operation Drive will provide transportation services to seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans, and persons that are disadvantaged to help build strong, and sustainable communities.
